Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), located in Abu Dhabi, is a flagship tertiary hospital and the largest teaching medical center in the region. Established in 2005, SKMC was formed through the merger of several public healthcare institutions, including Abu Dhabi Central Hospital, Al Jazeera Hospital, and Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center. Managed by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), SKMC offers a comprehensive range of medical services across 71 specialties, supported by a team of 398 doctors. The facility is equipped with 441 beds and includes 16 outpatient specialty clinics. SKMC is renowned for its innovative healthcare services, notably housing the UAE's first and most comprehensive Kidney Transplant Center, and serving as the sole provider of pediatric kidney transplant services in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, it boasts the largest Heart Program for Children in the UAE and the only Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Program in the emirate.
