Before The Surgery

3. After the initial steps to position the patient, doctors administer anesthetic eye drops and clean the eyelids properly. Post that, they place a lid speculum that helps keep the eyelids wide apart during the procedure.
4. Before the first incision and creation of the flap, a suction device helps fix the eye placement, which causes a slight pressure and temporary blacking out. After that, a microkeratome carves open the coronal flap.
5. Then, they move the flap and position the laser machine over the eye which fires a laser for about 60 seconds to restructure the cornea.
6. Post the restructuring of the corneal tissue, they secure the flap in the original position.
7. The doctors follow the same procedure for the second eye.

After Surgery

1. The patient might experience some discomfort from the procedure, slight burning ^and itching for some time.
