Prof. Dr. Koray Acarli

Prof. Dr. Koray Acarli is a distinguished surgeon specializing in general surgery, organ transplantation, and liver surgery, with an extensive career spanning over four decades. Born in 1956 in Istanbul, Turkey, he completed his medical education at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine between 1976 and 1981. He pursued his specialization in general surgery at the same institution from 1982 to 1986. Prof. Acarli further enhanced his expertise by serving as a research fellow in the Department of Liver Transplantation at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, USA, from 1991 to 1992. Throughout his career, he has held significant positions, including Head of the Department of Liver Transplantation in Adults and Children at Memorial Şişli Hospital in Istanbul. Prof. Acarli has contributed to the medical field through numerous scientific publications, with 62 papers covering topics such as liver transplantation for various conditions, living donor liver transplantation, and surgical management of liver diseases.
