Mr Nish Mehta is a paediatric and adult consultant ear, nose and throat surgeon, with subspecialist expertise in hearing, ear and balance conditions. He is fellowship-trained in cochlear implant and complex ear surgery.
His NHS practice is based at the Royal National ENT Hospital, within the University College London Hospitals (UCLH) Trust, the only ENT specialised hospital in Europe.
Mr Mehta graduated with a double distinction from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Medical School and undertook his advanced surgical training in top London hospitals, including Great Ormond Street, St Bartholomew's, the Royal National ENT, and Imperial Trust hospitals. He earned a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons before training further in the USA, the Netherlands, and India. He was chosen to be one of the few UK hearing implant surgeons trained as part of the prestigious Graham Fraser Memorial Fellowship in Sydney in Australia.
Mr Mehta is also an Associate Professor of deafness and hearing health at the renowned Ear Institute within UCL where he leads research and supervises master's and PhD students on improving detection and treatments for hearing abnormalities. He has more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is an author of three medical textbooks.
