About

Prof. Dr. Semra Kahraman is a renowned expert in reproductive medicine, specializing in infertility treatment, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and reproductive genetics. With a medical career spanning over 38 years, she has significantly contributed to advancements in assisted reproductive technologies. Prof. Kahraman completed her medical education at Hacettepe University in 1981 and pursued her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ankara University Medical School, completing it in 1989. She earned the title of Associate Professor in 1994 and became a full Professor in 2004.

Throughout her career, Prof. Kahraman has been a pioneer in Turkey, introducing techniques such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), embryo freezing, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) for single-gene disorders and HLA typing. She has also been instrumental in establishing embryonic stem cell lines in Turkey.
