Dr Dawn Chong is a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). She specializes in gastrointestinal cancers.
Dr Chong received the Singhealth Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellowship award and completed a fellowship in clinical and translational cancer epidemiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Additionally, she was awarded the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Research Training Fellowship and obtained a degree in Master of Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Dr Chong's research focuses on cancer epidemiology, with the aim of critically analyzing epidemiologic exposures with clinical and genetic information to elucidate novel biomarkers that can be used to risk stratify patients and guide treatment decisions. Her research on metabolites in colorectal cancer earned her the NMRC Transition Award. Furthermore, she has published in numerous high impact journals, including JAMA Oncology and Lancet Oncology.
Dr Chong holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and serves as a clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin Medical School. She has been actively involved in the training and education of undergraduates and young clinicians.
