Mr Amar Alwitry is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in cataracts, glaucoma and eyelid surgery.
He is highly qualified and experienced, which led him to acquire the ‘Best Ophthalmologist 2019 and Patient Safety Innovator of the Year', which was awarded by the GHP Private Healthcare Awards.
Mr Alwitry qualified from the University of Nottingham in 1996 and has also completed a postgraduate qualification in Cataract and Refractive Surgery, as well as a fellowship with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He has written three textbooks and more than 35 articles.
Mr Alwitry has also undertaken a master's degree in Medical Law and spends time to complete medicolegal work. He is writing a book or clinical errors and litigation to be published by Taylor and Francis. He is also a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of Ramsay Hospital NottIngram.
He has completed over 1800 cataract procedures each year and enjoys providing talks to GPs and Optometrists. He is also a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Quality and Safety Group.
